For those who want to continue for the remainder of the season, this fee can be applied to another program upon completion of the Learn to Paddle Program.
This is a program designed to introduce adults, young and old, to the world of recreational and competitive paddling in a fun and safe environment. During the program participants will have the opportunity to paddle a number of different boats that the CDBCC has at its boathouse, the Watts Family Boathouse, located at the Collingwood Harbourlands. Emphasis will be placed on proper care and handling of the boats and equipment, boat safety, basic stroke techniques to paddle recreational and racing kayaks and canoes and outrigger canoes. There will be opportunity to try out all the boats and receive personalized instruction by the program delivery team.
Taking place during four one-hour sessions over a month, participants will receive an orientation to the Collingwood Dragon Boat and Canoe Club activities.
All equipment will be provided by the Club including approved Personal Flotation Devices (PFDs). However, we recommend that if you have your own properly-fitted and approved PFD that you bring it with you.
