In response to a number of queries, here's how to get to Collingwood from Toronto:

From the east end: 400 north to Barrie; at Bayfield Street exit, head north/west. Turn left at Highway 26, and follow the signs to Collingwood (at Stayner, you'll turn right at the lights at the Esso Station). Once you're in Collingwood, turn right at the first set of lights (Toyota dealership on your right-hand side), and follow that road (Pretty River Parkway) until it comes around a big curve and takes you past Sobey's(on the right). At the first set of lights past Sobey's, turn right (Heritage Drive), and you'll see the boathouse just before the grain elevators...

From the west end: 400 north directions as above; alternatively, Hwy. 410 north to Highway 10. At Hwy. 89 at Primrose (set of lights), turn left toward Shelburne; at the lights just coming into Shelburne (Hwy. 124), turn right. At three-way stop in Singhampton, turn right, and follow the highway into Collingwood. At the northerly end of Hurontario Street (downtown Collingwood), turn right at the lights (Huron Street), and at the first set of lights (Heritage Drive), turn left.

You can also follow Airport Road north to Stayner, and pick up Highway 26 at the lights at the Esso Station...
