Collingwood Paddling Club

Welcome to the home of the Collingwood Paddling Club. Our Mission: The mission of the Collingwood Paddling Club is to positively impact our community by promoting healthy physical activity on the water through the development of recreational and competitive paddling programming that is safe and inclusive. The CPC is a not-for-profit corporation dedicated to establishing, developing and supporting recreational and competitive paddling sports in the Collingwood area. The CPC is committed to providing access to dragon boating, sprint canoeing and kayaking and recreational paddling (including surfski, stand up paddleboarding and outrigger paddling) to its members in a safe and controlled environment and to developing youth and adult programs for all levels of paddlers.

The CPC is a member of Canoe Kayak Canada (CKC), the national sport organization for paddling competitive sports in Canada, and Canoe Kayak Ontario Sprint (“CKO Sprint”), a division of Canoe Kayak Ontario. Formed in 2004, the club encourages paddlers of all ages to take part in a variety of programs including dragonboating, recreational paddling, and youth programming.

Along with dragon boats – including a BUK generously donated to the Town of Collingwood in 2003 – the club also features a number of flatwater boats, including C-1, C-2, and C-4 sprint canoes, K-1 and K-2 sprint kayaks, and the jewel of the club’s fleet, an 80-year-old restored war canoe (C-15). The club also has a number of stand up surfski’s, paddle-boards (SUP's), outrigger canoes (OC-1's) and sea kayaks.

The club’s compound is located south of the historic Collingwood Grain Terminals.

The Collingwood Paddling Club is a member of the True Sport movement, and believes in teaching respect, honesty, fair play, discipline, commitment and effort through sport.

The Collingwood Paddling Club is grateful for the support of the Ontario Trillium Foundation.

Since 2005, the Ontario Trillium Foundation has provided funding that has allowed the club to purchase equipment, renovate the Watts' Boathouse to the club's use, and hire a general manager.
