August 20th, 5-7pm
The Collingwood Paddling Club and Biathlon Canada are providing club members the unique opportunity of trying a summer version of the Winter Olympic sport of Biathlon - using electronic devices. No bullets, no ammunition, just a special camera on a device paired with computerized targets to simulate shooting, combined with kayaking- and it’s free!
Paddlers will be given a short introductory lesson on safety and the basics of target shooting. Then, instead of xc skiing, participants will combine kayak paddling with target shooting in a fun relay.
The event will be on Wednesday August 20th from 5:00-7:00pm at the Boathouse Parking Lot.
The event is free of charge.
The event is open to all Collingwood Paddling Club Members and staff on a first come/first serve basis. Registration is required through the website for participation numbers. Any non-members are welcome to register through the website as of Saturday August 16th.
All participants must register for a “Tryout license”/waiver on the Biathlon Canada website under memberships (https://www.biathloncanada.ca/membership).
